Vision in Velvet by Juliet Blackwell

In this engaging adventure, the tables are turned on Lilly Ivory, who usually winds up helping the local police solve unusual cases. This time, however, the mystery is closer to home.  Who or what does this mystery involve?  I shall not tell.  I will only say that with each chapter, forgive the cliché,
the plot thickens.

Juliet’s understanding of historical fact as well as witch lore is evident.  The weaving of fact and fiction adds to the richness of the story.  You learn as Lily learns, but you don’t feel like you are reading a textbook or sitting in a lecture.

Another endearing quality of this series is the recurrence of characters from previous books.  A smile crosses by face as Lily visits and reconnects with characters from past books.

I want to thank Juliet Blackwell for allowing us to watch Lily Ivory grow in her magical ability as well as her emotional growth in her trust of friends and family.
